A getaway abroad is not complete without a trip to Sephora or two! The apartment in Trastevere was situated within a sweet five minute walk from Sephora and Kiko. Each evening resulted in hands swatched with lipsticks and eyeshadows.
Kiko Milano Cosmetics
The Kiko Eyes Palette is a compact travel-sized palette, adorned with versatile neutral shades for day and night.
The eyeshadow range has a pigmented formula and is carried in two varieties: the neutrals and the darks; the latter having a more smokey finish of cool-toned greys and blacks.
Creamy Lipstick in Shade 05
The Kiko creamy lipstick is a deep plum tone with a matte finish and creamy formula upon application. Unlike many matte lipsticks, the product does not feel drying on the lips nor does it require reapplication. It glides smooth across the lips and has proven to be long-lasting.
The colour is similar to Mac Cosmetics’ Diva and can be regarded as a good and cheap duplicate of the real product. The colour is sheen and perfect for the cooler days in Autumn and Winter.
Zara Perfume in “Oriental”
The Zara Perfume in Oriental could be seen as an inexpensive dupe for Chanel’s Coco, a classic and favourite of mine, with its distinct jasmine scent.
It is an ideal Spring/Summer scent and comes in convenient travel sized packaging: a 30ml rollerball or a 100ml bottle, both perfect to throw in your handbag.
Despite the fragrance being an EDT, it is long lasting, therefore not much will be required for the day.
Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in “Lolita”
The cult-classic liquid lipstick in the cult classic shade, and with good reason for it gaining such a critically acclaimed reputation.
The liquid lipstick is in that “your lips but better” colour and ideal for day-to-day natural looks. It is such an easy to wear shade and can compliment many complexions.
The formula is non-drying and long lasting with a creamy matte finish.
Combine it with Mac Cosmetics’ Pro Longwear Lipliner in “Ms Diva” or Primark Beauty’s Lipliner in “Rosewood Mauve” for the perfect colour payoff.
Smashbox Always On Liquid Lipstick in “Bawse”
This particular liquid lipstick was in collaboration with Lily Singh of IISuperwomanII. Having come from a Desi background, Lily’s collaboration has provided the perfect input for the liquid lipstick to be an optimal and complementary shade for Asian complexions.
The liquid lipstick comes with a heart-shaped pointed applicator. The colour is a cool toned pigmented red.
The formula is non-bleeding and, to be candid, survives a decent pie, mash and mushy peas meal. Proving it to be robust and, like its namesake, always on.
